An Invite to The Banquet: Musings

I love sharing my experiences as stories and this hobby started in 2020, which most people tagged "The COVID year". I was depressed, debased, sad and tired about life; I knew I had much more to do in life but I wasn't getting the push to do them. This continued until I stumbled upon certain songs, these songs came as songs of victory for me, they came as a bright ray in my dark world. I began to have hope, anticipation and expectation for what life has to offer me.

In 2021, school resumed back and though the classes were to be online, I insisted on travelling down to school. I told my mum I would feel choked up if I remained at home and she agreed. And so, on a sunny Tuesday, I packed my bags and went off to the prestigious University of Ibadan, Oyo state, Nigeria - one of the best schools in Africa. Being my first year in medical school, I had fears, I was excited and I was looking forward to my experiences showcased in the fact that I got myself a diary - something I had never done all my life.

I got to school, met my roommate and we both planned to scour through our new school together the next day! I hardly slept a wink that night because of the excitement. The next day, we woke up as early as possible and at 6 am, I heard someone knocking on our door. We were surprised because we weren't expecting a visitor and when we opened up the door, I saw my elder brother (He also studies at my school), I was happy to see him and he invited me to a banquet. Well, I had plans with my roommate and so, I was a bit reluctant to attend this banquet with him but because I respected him a lot, I agreed to go with him.

I followed him that evening and I met a very happy army. I was curious about who they were and they told me that they were The Supernatural Army! That exceeded my expectations. Their joy rubbed off on me and I vowed to join them too - The best decision I ever made in my life. I was happy at that point in time and I knew I had finally reached home. The solace was indescribable.

However, a week later, something major happened. I was kidnapped (Yes, you read right!). It was broad daylight and the man requested my help with road directions, I wasn't aware he was a bad guy and so, he almost drove me away. At that time, I thought to myself, " I didn't come to Ibadan just to go missing" and so, I made a short prayer; after all my mum will always tell me that prayer never fails. All of a sudden, the man got angry and turned to me asking me what church or fellowship I attended. Subconsciously, I replied, "The Supernatural Army", and that did the job! The kidnapper parked his car and ordered me to get off. I did immediately and then, he drove off huffing like a mad cow. Then, I remembered, "Oh No! My phone, glasses and bags were in his car!" But he was gone! I refused to be consoled until my father, Pastor Akintara Akinkuade said to me, "Thank God you're fine! His power is so much evident on you which is why your kidnapper could do nothing to you. You should forget about using glasses because your eyes are fine". I was assured by those words and so, I moved on with my life. Three days later, my dad sent me some money which I wasn't actually expecting and so, I got a new cell phone.

At the supernatural army, I was taught to do big things, I was taught not to think about money anytime I had a project to do, and I was taught how not to fear starting small things or taking over big things. My heart was enlarged! I started having a real purpose for my existence, I had a picture and I had the power to bring it into being. My life was set!

I thought that was all about this army I had joined until I heard the words " Heart Enlargement Speciale". Being a medical student, I had heard about what heart enlargement was - An enlarged heart (cardiomegaly) can be caused by damage to the heart muscle or any condition that makes the heart pump harder than usual and could be treated by medications or surgery. So, to me, I thought that surgery was about to take place in the supernatural army and so, we were all invited to be observers.

Well, it was a surgery; its modus operandi was only different from the norm. It was a surgery of destinies, lives were transformed, sicknesses were healed and deaths were waived.

I wasn't about to be an onlooker too, my life was drastically renewed! I got a heart bigger than life and my long-term sickness vanished without a trace. I was a new man, reborn and equipped to take over my world.

After that surgery, I was visibly different from how I used to be so much so that my course mate who was trying to ask me what I felt about failing got the shock of his life when I said, "I can't picture myself failing, not as a student and definitely not as a writer because I have imbibed the culture of excellence in the army I belong to".

This change happened by God and so, you could imagine my excitement when I heard this year's heart enlargement speciale was coming up soon. I screamed because I knew this was what I had been waiting for since January. I laughed in my dreams when I remembered again that the largest indoor auditorium in the city of Ibadan was to be used! I wanted not just to be changed but to see the world changed by God's power.

However, attendance for this year's Speciale banquet requires a strict invitation - only for the sons and daughters which is why, if you would be visiting Nigeria this month, make it a duty to be at the special Speciale banquet. For my folks who cannot make it down to Nigeria, I've got an online provision for you to be a part of this year's special Speciale.

Remember to register here as it's free! And yes, after the banquet, I would love to know what changed for you (Yes, I want to hear your story too), reach out to me through my mail.

Till next time, keep achieving, dear one.
