The Power of an Adoption

A community finds itself without a successor to its king. It is imperative to find a suitable successor for him on the throne; otherwise, another family will inherit the ruling power. Oh, how exasperating! What actions might the king take? Will he choose to adopt or continue to wait for the arrival of the heir? He was already in his nineties!

He initially objected to the priest's advice to adopt, but after taking his age into account, he eventually accepted. The heir began to mature within the grand walls of the palace, immersing himself in the intricate customs and traditions that defined his noble upbringing.

Due to the heir's unfortunate circumstances as an orphan, the king remained oblivious to his lineage and solely focused on appointing him as his successor.

The child started interacting with other children in the palace. One day, he witnessed a guard mistreating a particular prisoner, which filled him with a burning rage. He frees the prisoner from the guard, exercising his authority within the palace.

The prisoners were overjoyed when they discovered that there might be someone in the palace who was considering their well-being.

After a few years, the king's demise resulted in the ascension of a youthful and energetic successor. Some of the kingmakers were filled with unhappiness due to envy, while others experienced joy.

The adoption process was kept confidential, known only to the deceased king and the priest.

The new ruler had brought about a refreshing change in the community, empowering its people to fight for their rights, particularly women. They now had the chance to receive free education, regardless of age, and enjoy the benefits of a working governmental system. 

With the arrival of the new king, even the prisoners were not forgotten; the new king granted some of them a pardon, allowing everyone in the community to live a life of freedom. Albeit under the watchful eye of strict disciplinary measures. The community welcomed him for his commitment to freedom, although some disagreed with his strong opposition to corruption. Utilising taxes; effectively attracting investors to their community, putting their small town on the national radar.

As soon as it was announced that the child would become the king's heir. He had been bestowed with the power to govern his people with authority.

Nobody could deny that he was heir with this much authority.

Every adoption is a story of life's change interwoven with newly emerging fresh starts fueled by love. 

It reminds us that everyone has the ability to be a beloved character in a fresh story and that loving and caring is unlimited. 

Being reminded of this helps us remember that family is made up of people we choose to be with, and not just where we come from.
